Another option is an alternative is Cybex Mios, which straddles both types of pushchairs to provide a fully-functional travel system with agility and a compact fold. It can be used in parent-rear facing pushchair (pop over to these guys) mode from birth, and switched to a world-facing position as your child gets older. It also has a decent recline feature that's suitable for napping. It isn't quite as compact as the Libelle however it comes in smaller size and is more comfortable to use on flat surfaces. It's not the best choice for rough terrain, however. Its other selling point is the low cost and outstanding durability tests.

Easy to store

The Joie Pact Pro is the ideal travel stroller, folding into a size that can fit into an overhead luggage compartment, and is so light that you'll not even notice it in your car boot. It's also a great stroller for daily use. Our test-driver Hollie found it easy to steer even while carrying a baby of just one year old. She was impressed by the adjustable handle and lockable wheels, however, she said it's not the most comfortable seat. However, she also appreciates the possibility to include extras like the washable, reversible seat liner, rain cover, and a foot muff.

The Babyzen YOYO fold pushchair is another stroller that folds down compactly. It's not as sleek as the Cybex Libelle but it's still a neat package that can be easily slid into car boot and trunks. It offers more newborn options when compared to other buggies. You can add an infant cot or bassinet as well as an individual ride on board for older kids and an adapter for tandem seats.

The YOYO is not the most compact buggy for driving on rough or uneven terrain. The wheels are small and aren't as efficient as other models we've tested. But, it's an extremely maneuverable pushchair stroller and the YOYO does an excellent job of navigating narrow shopping aisles and muddy paths. It's an excellent choice for a holiday or city break.

The Cosatto Bee6 is a compact travel buggy that offers a host of features at surprisingly low prices. It can fold down to the size of a large backpack and weighs only 6kg, so it's an ideal travel buggy to carry on planes and trains. It is also very easy to steer and our MFM test rider Matt found it a joy to steer, even when a heavy toddler was on board. He also liked the hood, which is down low enough to protect from rain and sun and facilitate naps. The only drawback is that there isn't a storage space under the seat and you'll have to carry or carefully hang your bag on the handlebars (against expert advice!). You can also purchase an additional changing bag holder to make this a great buggy for holidays.

The majority of compact pushchairs are designed for toddlers and older children However, a growing number of them offer a lie-flat seat or the option of adding an additional carrycot (or baby car seat) to make them suitable from the time of birth. These concertina or Z fold buggies are usually very lightweight with a weight of 6-8kg. They can also be certified for use in the cabin by a number of airlines. MFM Editor Gemma has used it on many occasions and says it's incredibly easy to use and take away.

If you're in search of a truly small fold one, the YOYO is the pinnacle of the compact category and was the first strollers of this kind. It's still a popular choice for parents who prefer it over its rivals due to its unique design and superior functionality. It's an excellent choice for frequent travelers, especially if they want to avoid the stress of waiting in lines at baggage pickup by bringing their stroller along.
