It then uses this information to design an efficient and consistent cleaning path for each cycle. The result is cleaner floors, and a cleaner vacuum than most competing high-end robot vacuums.

The 980's other features include dual multi-surface rubber brushes which pick up dirt from carpet and hard floors, along with a spinning brush that sweeps debris into the bin of the robotic vacuum. The sensor for floor tracking helps it navigate around furniture as well as along edges and steps. Cliff Detect prevents the Roomba from falling. It will automatically return to its base station for easy charging between sessions. The bin capacity and battery life of the 980 aren't as good as some other robot vacuums. However, it's a solid and reliable machine that will keep floors clean for many hours.
