Three Wheeled Buggies

Whether you're looking for a buggy to jog with or just a compact stroller for the neighborhood, three-wheeled buggies are great for mobility. Their compact design makes them easy to maneuver, even in tight spaces.

If you're looking for an easy ride in your baby, opt for models with 360deg front wheels with swivel. They are prone, however to punctures. Be prepared with a repair set.

Frame made of sturdy material

Figures have just been released revealing that the three-wheeled vehicle - that noughties symbol of more money than sanity is on the verge of disappearing. They've been replaced with four-wheelers that can handle a wider variety of terrain, yet still look stylish and easy to push.

MFM reviewer Kath tested this buggy with a newborn baby and a toddler and found it to be very robust. It handled grass, cobbles and rough pavements, aswell as dirt tracks and kerbs. She said that it felt solid to push and very stable on difficult terrain. Its tyres (which are inflatable and require periodic pumping) have suspension built-in that was very comfortable for my kids.

Another thing to consider is the size and shape. It should be large enough to accommodate your child's comfort and you will also need it to recline so that they can lie flat. Certain three-wheel buggies come with a lie-flat option that allows the child to face you, while others only permit a parent-facing option.

The Roma Atlas is a great alternative for off-road or muddy walks. It can be used as a single from birth, and then expands to take two children when your family grows. It is suitable for infants and toddlers from birth until age 4. It comes with a bumper and raincover, a new 5-point harness, and a large cushioned seat. The storage options are good too, with a decent-sized basket, zip pockets inside the hood, and an easy-to-access pouch on the rear of the seat unit.

Larger wheels

Larger wheels mean that your buggy will have more stability on rough terrain - perfect for buggies that are off-road. Additionally, they help you maneuver the pushchair in tight spaces. Many three wheeled buggies have swivel front wheels to aid you in maneuvering around corners with ease, whereas others are designed for running and come with fixed front wheels that lock to improve the speed and stability with which they can be pushed. This is particularly useful when you hit the kerb or a tree. The front wheel will lift slightly to keep it from hitting it.

Easy to maneuver

The only downside to this incredible maneuverability is that the larger wheels of a 3-wheel buggy may make it difficult to fit into tight spaces. This is something to keep in mind when your home is an urban area. If this is the case then a 4-wheeled buggy could be the better option for you.
