1. iRobot Roomba 11S

The eufy RoboVac11S is a different option for regular vacuuming. It has a very similar design to our top pick and is excellent at picking up fine dust and larger debris from hard flooring. It also does a great job on medium and low-pile carpet. Like the Roomba from iRobot Roomba, it has a very large dirt compartment and utilizes BoostIQ to automatically adjust suction power. It also comes with an easy-to-use remote control to operate, and you can program daily cleaning routines with the app. The battery can last for around an hour and the dustbin is able to be cleaned without taking it from the dock.

2. Roborock S7 maxV Ultra

Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra robot mop and vacuum is an excellent robot with an impressive array of automated features. It is available in three models, the basic S7, the S7 MaxV Plus, and the S7 MaxV Ultra. The S7 MaxV Ultra is the only model equipped with an Empty Wash Fillet Dock (or an alternative Auto-Empty Dock). These docks allow the robot vacuums self emptying to return to its base and empty the debris in a dust bag, or reservoir, drain the dirty water tank and wash its mopping pads.

Sensors on the S7 work together to clean and avoid obstacles. It can identify floor types and save a map of rooms and zones. It can even detect dirt levels. It's also capable of scheduling and executing spot cleaning sessions. It did well in standard tests, however it couldn't match the iRobot Roomba j7+ in the carpet deep cleaning test.

It's simple to set up, comes with a huge bin that is easy to empty (albeit somewhat loudly) into a trash bin when full and can be programmed to complete a whole-home cleaning schedule or as needed.

The IQ XL can connect to your home WiFi, which allows you to monitor it through the Shark app and view its battery levels as it cleans. The app allows you to set up a cleaning routine and receive push notifications about its condition in cleaning, pause it and then resume cleaning or set it for one specific area. It can also be controlled by voice commands via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. The app will tell you which power mode it is currently in, namely Eco, Normal, or Max. However, we couldn't determine that any of these modes made a huge difference in cleaning performance.

The IQ XL will automatically empty the dustbin at the end of each cleaning cycle into the base, which will automatically empty itself. Its bin can hold up 60 days' worth of trash, so it won't need emptying more frequently than that, unless you own several pets with long hair. If you need to empty it you can simply detach the side container and place it on top of the trash can, and then press the button.

The Shark IQ XL is a good vacuum cleaner. It does a good job of cleaning bare floors and can maneuver itself well. However, the Shark IQ XL feels a slightly less sturdy than the Roomba 694. It does a good job of cleaning carpeted floors but doesn't match the iRobot Roomba i7 in terms of the performance of bare floors. The i7 also feels more robust, more durable, requires less maintenance, has lower recurring costs, charges faster and has similar battery performance. It also has more advanced technology for automation, such as areas that are not accessible and the ability to select the rooms that should be cleaned.

4. iRobot J7+

This robot vacuum mop self empty mop/vac combo is a rare find, since it does both jobs exceptionally well. iRobot Combo j7+ has all the features and smarts of its j7 counterpart, including LiDAR maps and self-emptying. But it also offers additional features for mopping and vacuuming.

The new acoustic sensors help the j7+ identify the types of flooring, so it can decide between vacuuming and mopping when it first enters an area. It also uses this info to prioritize cleaning rooms with carpet and rugs over those with hard floors.

It's simple to set the schedule for cleaning and change what the j7+ does when its dust canister is full. The j7+ can be controlled by voice assistants (Alexa, Google Assistant, etc.) The app allows you to create and view maps within your home.

In our tests, the j7+ performed well on carpeted and hard floors, cleaning most of the dirt we tossed at it. It isn't able to deal with pet hair, large debris and sand. However, it is able to clean them with more effort. It has excellent navigational capabilities and two cliff sensors that prevent it from falling down stairs or becoming caught on furniture legs.

The j7+ has a few small flaws, namely that it could get caught on rugs or cords and doesn't always switch off the mopping function when it's finished vacuuming. This is a fantastic model that ticks all the boxes.

iRobot J7+ is one of the most efficient auto-emptying systems we've ever examined. It spits out its 14oz / 0.4-liter dust container into the base station where it automatically empties itself for you. This reduces the amount of garbage you have to get rid of.
