    1. Engine Speed Sensor

    The grey wire is situated at the edges of the transmission, directly above the flywheel ring. The sensor sends a signal via the grey wire to pin T55/49. The ECU uses this information to regulate boost and fuel. It also sends an indicator to the G5 Tachometer in instrument cluster.

    The sensor is used to link with the G40 Camshaft position Sensor. The ecu must know when the crankshaft is TDC and where the camshaft is located so that it can start spark and injectors accordingly.

    If this sensor fails when it fails, the ECU will display a P00160 error message. This indicates that the Crank Shaft is out of line with the Intake Camshaft. I put a piece of tissue over each hole in the injector and when i turn the engine on without sparks, the three with gazoline jump out. The 4th one remains shut. I checked the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55,30/55 and 48/55 I get zero ohm. So i assume the problem is elsewhere.

    I also tried to reset the PID but with no luck. The car will start when the G28 is unplugged, and it is running fine with the G28 connected. However, the intermittent misfire problem persists at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62), even when unplugged, still shows an ice temperature of -49c. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bar but the actual pressure is 0.

    I'm not sure what to do. I think I've all other possibilities out. But i'm worried that I might have missed something. If anyone has any ideas please chime in! TIA!

    3. Fuel Pump

    The fuel pump in the g28 receives a signal from the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter is similar to the G4 sender and works on the 80,100,200, UrS, and RS2 vehicles.
