Top Rated Robot Vacuums

A robot vacuum can keep the floors clean enough to cut down on the frequency with which you need to manually vacuum. Look for one that offers an easy navigation, can sweep corners and stairs and has a huge dust bin that needs emptying only periodically.

1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO is identical to its sibling, the i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is an excellent option for those looking for a an entirely automated, hands-free cleaning experience but are willing to manually empty the dust bin when it is full.

Both robots are good at picking up surface dirt on carpets and hard floors and can navigate around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes smart maps of your home, which help the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a way that maximizes efficiency. However, unlike the i7+ and other top-rated robots we evaluated the i3+ does not have any obstacle-avoidance features, so it may be stuck on things like socks or power cords, and it may have trouble in navigating through transitions between surfaces like hardwood to carpet.

iRobot suggests that you clear areas where the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, and include putting away any clutter or toys it may encounter. You should also keep the filters and dust bin clear to avoid becoming clogged. If the i3+ EVO's internal bin is full or its battery is depleted, it returns to its docking station, automatically empties its trash into the station's dust bin and continues cleaning the area where it left off. 2. Roomba from iRobot

The iRobot i7+ is an excellent model from iRobot's flagship line and comes with the most recent features. It's self-charging, self-navigating and the most important feature of all -- it comes with a self-emptying dustbin that eliminates one of the main sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.

The Roomba I7+ can make rooms more efficient maps using Imprint Smart Mapping. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and direct your robot by voice or through the app.

The i7+ is faster and more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also removed large pet hair pieces from any surface, including carpeting. Its main advantage over the eufy, is its self-emptying dustbin which eliminates a major cause of maintenance and lowers the amount of time spent cleaning.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot to begin, stop, or pause cleaning sessions, as well as to move around the room, and vacuum a particular area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward through the iRobot Home app. When connected to these services, we were able give the i7+ voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This model has its own advantages however: it's light and more mobile than previous Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is noticeably superior on low-pile floor carpet.

4. iRobot Roomba 694

One of iRobot's most adored robot vacuums The 694 is an entry-level model that's a great choice for people who don't wish to spend too much on a robot. It was able to remove the majority of types of debris and sizes in our testing and often went over the same area several times to give an extensive clean. The flat front of the unit allows it reach into corners and along the edges of walls, which is a nice addition.

Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt technology to avoid obstacles and guide you through your home. In our tests of the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and handled dog hair (on carpet) very well, picking up 86% of it. It was not as successful in avoiding taller objects like socks or cords.
